A busy weekend for the Brigade commenced on Saturday evening with a festival at Hamilton Baptist Church. Due to family illness S/Ldr Chic Ramsay was unable to be present, however the Brigade provided a very well received programme of music to the large congregation. Items included God of my praise, In Jesus Name, Singin' in the heavenly choir and His strength is perfect. Soloist for the evening was Moira Wilson, and the Timbrels played to 'Victory'. So well was the Brigade received that an encore was requested in 'His Strength Is Perfect'. We are indebted to Sarah Stuart for her accompaniments.

The Brigade, Scottish Summer Camp Ensemble, and soloist Olwyn Mathie (Bellshill) with compere June Brogan (BBC - River City) provided an excellent programme of music in aid of the Scottish School of Music and Drama, raising £500.
The Brigade provided a number of items including God of my praise, In Jesus Name, Precious Jesus, The Christian Mission and Total Praise in which we were joined by camp members from previous years. The Brass Ensemble provided a range of items to suit all tastes from Baroque to Swing and featured a number of soloists, all playing to a very high standard. Olwyn thrilled the congregation with her choice of songs, some very simple, but obviously sung with total commitment. The congregation in the well filled hall expressed their obvious enjoyment of the music provided, and a show of hands revealed that the vast majority had attended the Music School in previous years. Photographs on Latest Pictures Page.

The Brigade will be having a new photograph taken on Monday 10 march for our 90th Anniversary brochure. On Monday 17 March we will enjoy a long overdue Curry Night at the New Shimla in Renfrew.

Our favourite Christmas Carol Poll has now closed with the clear winner, with more than three times the vote of the next favourite, is O Holy Night with 55% of the vote, Away in a manger second with 15%, and Silent Night with 12%.. Interestingly, O Holy Night, although the clear favourite, is seldom used in Carol Services.
