As part of our 90th Anniversary weekend the Holiness meeting was led by the brigade, with the brigade contributing, 'Close to Me', 'Singin' in the heavenly choir' and 'His Provision'. It was a pleasure for the Brigade to be joined by a number of songsters who had travelled a considerable distance to join in our celebrations.
This evening brought our 90th Anniversary Concert with special guests the Kings Singers and the Scottish Co Op Band, with Musical Director Allan Ramsay. Bandmaster Brian Keachie will produce a full review of the concert and this will appear soon. The evening was a huge success, with wonderful musicianship and artistry dispalyed by all our guests.
As part of the Brigades 90th Anniversary weekend, and following The Kings Singers and Scottish Co - Op Band Concert, we will be leading our Holiness Meeting at Govan on Sunday. As this is a holiday weekend there will be no evening meeting on Sunday. Again, due to the holiday weekend there will be no rehearsal on Monday evening.

Our rehearsals continued with further work done on 'Because of who You are',' Arms Open Wide', with 'Compelled By Love' and Distant Land' being revisited. It was good to have Kevin Jefferson back in the rehearsal following a lengthy period of being unwell.
Our Holiness meeting was conducted by our Divisional Leaders, Majors Carol and Ivor Telfer. Assisted by Sarah Stuart at the piano the Brigade sang Damien Wilemans lovely arrangement of 'He Sought Me', which brought much favourable comment about the impact of this song. In our Praise and Salvation meeting, led by Major Derek Tyrrell, the Brigade contributed Graham Press' arrangement 'Singin in the Heavenly Choir'.
Our Holiness meeting on Sunday will be led by our Divisional Commander, Major Ivor Telfer and Major Carol Telfer. As Sarah Stuart is available to accompany the Brigade, we will sing Damian Wilemans lovely arrangement of 'He Sought Me'.

Our rehearsals continued tonight with further work done on He Sought Me, which we hope to use this weekend as Sarah Stuart will be available to accompany the Brigade. The rehearsal closed slightly earlier as, in a surprise for Audrey and Chic the brigade recognised their silver wedding anniversary this week with refreshments at the end of the practice. The Brigade also appreciated the assistance of Sarah Stuart at the piano this evening. Photographs of Audrey and Chics anniversary tea will appear soon.
With Major Derek attending an engagement in Ireland and Major Helen visiting her new granddaughter in Australia our meetings were led by Majors John and Janette Howie. The Brigade sang Alexander Addis arrangement of All to Jesus in our Holiness meeting and Barrie Gotts arrangement of What a friend in our Praise and Salvation meeting.

The Brigade were delighted to hear that Majors Helen and Derek Tyrrell have a new granddaughter, Charlotte, who was born yesterday in Australia. Majors Derek and Helen were due to fly out to Australia next month to be present for the birth, but Charlottes slightly early arrival means that major Helen will leave for Australia tomorrow, Monday. Our rehearsals resume tomorrow after a break of a few weeks for photographs, Curry Night, and bereavement.
The brigade were priveleged to attend the funeral and thanksgiving service for retired Home League Secretary Martha Ramasay, and contributed one of Marthas favourite songs 'What a Friend' arranged by Barrie Gott

This weekend brought our Home League weekend which was led by Majo Ivy Nash (R) from Milton Keynes Corps. The brigade sang "In Jesus Name' during our Holiness meeting and 'Total Praise' in our Praise and Salvation meeting. There will be no rehearsal tomorrow evening, however the brigade will be on duty at the funeral service for Retired Home League Secretary Martha Ramsay on Thursday this week.
We were saddened to learn of the Promotion to Glory of former Songster Martha Ramsay, mother of Songster Leader Chic Ramsay. Martha passed away today in Hairmyers Hospital following a lengthy illness. We remember Chic and the family.
The Brigade took part in a festival of Easter music in the historic Govan Old Parish Church this evening. A evening of easter hymns and readings was enhanced by a group of excellent female soloists and duetists who contributed songs including music by Handels My Sheep Safely Graze and Mascagnis Easter Hymn from Cavalleria Rusticana. The Brigade contributed 'Jesus Is Alive' and 'Compelled By Love'.
